My mom and I went to our town's local craft fair today and it was smokin' hot outside!  Ninety degrees and full sun.  Smokin' hot, I tell ya'.

Afterwards, we spotted an estate sale at a really cute little house and look what I found!!  (The camera...not the three year old.)  Ten bucks for two cameras, extra lenses and some sort of Kodak timer...??

I think I have three other photos of Emily just like this one. She's in different clothes, of course, but they are pretty much all the same. I'm stuck in a bit of a rut. Takin' a class right now though so that's good! Maybe I'll get some fresh ideas and a new outlook on this photography thing.

Sweet, sweet Emily. The bargain talker. The con artist of sorts. The "I can talk you into anything and beg like a dog" child.

Dude. I love her guts.

Okay.  So here's my photo for today and I honestly don't know how I caught this.

No wait.

That's not true.

I *do* know how I caught this.

I took one hundred and seventeen shots of Allison blowing bubbles.  I guess the odds were good that I'd get just ONE for my 365 project.

Oh. And don't let the sundress fool ya'. It was chilly today! The middle of May and 62 degrees. (stop laughing...that's chilly for us)

Caroline and I played outside (again) today and she was happy to smile a bit for me.

---->insert shocked face here<----

This isn't my normal processing...just felt like trying something new today.  Hey.  Why not?  Caroline did.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies and grandmommies out there!  Today we had a grand ol' time at our house!  We had family over for a cookout and chit-chat and giggles.  This was the macaroni covered face I found at my feet today.  She was beggin' for a cookie.  I often find this little one looking up at me just this way.  I'm going to miss this angle when she's tall enough to look me square in the face.

We participated in the community yard sale today and Allison walked down the street with Nan and came back with this pillow....and a step stool for her big sister.  How sweet!

Not sure what this one is called either, but it makes pretty bokeh.

This is a macro shot of some sort of teeny flower that is blooming in our backyard.  I asked my horticulturalist husband what it was called and he named it right off the bat.  I'd tell you what it is, but I can't even pronounce it...much less spell it.

Today, Emily and I took part in the Walk for Lupus Now at Piedmont Park.  We were there to support my sweet cousin, Robin, in her fight against Lupus.  We had a fantastic time talking, giggling and walking in support of her and others that are fighting this disease.  I was able to catch up with old friends and family and spend some quality time with my best eight year old.  Emily and I spent all afternoon at the park and we loved every minute of it.

(My selfie for the month of April...taken with my sweet girl...the same one that scored THREE goals during her soccer game this morning!  It seems as though she has found her aggressiveness as far as sports is concerned.)

We've been drilling into their little heads that Easter is NOT about egg coloring, candy, baskets, bunnies or pretty new dresses.  Easter is about Jesus.  Period.  Yes, all the other that goes along with Easter is great fun and of course we participate in all that jazzy action.  It's delightfully fun! However, we want our babies to know that He died on the cross for them and that the story didn't end there.  Three days later?  He rose!

On Friday, on the way to school, I was explaining that it was Good Friday.  That the day signifies Jesus' dying on the cross.  Allison piped up from the "way back" and said, "AGAIN?! Didn't He just do that LAST year, too?!"

And today, on the way to soccer (Did I tell you I spend 4 days a week and several hours at the soccer field?  Did I?  DID I?), we were talking about how since yesterday was Good Friday, that means that today He is in the grave.  Everyone thinks He is dead.  Everyone.  Little did they know....

Tomorrow?  Why tomorrow we will hunt eggs and we will wear pretty dresses (well, except for my dude) and we will have freshly painted toes and brand new shoes as we head to church.  Why?  Well, because we want to look extra specially lovely for Jesus.  After all, the day is about Him, of course.
