How do ya' like those Hello Kitty socks?  So much easier to twirl on hardwood flooring in socked feet.

Today's prompt:  twirl

Cross your fingers, people! I entered this photo in the I Heart Faces weekly challenge. The focus of this week's challenge is "whimsy". Head on over and check out the fantastical entries!

I had today's photo all set up and ready for editing.  The girls were playing in the hose while Tony and I worked a bit outside.  I'd taken a photo of Caroline waving the hose around...just learning how to "shoot it weely far" by putting her finger over the end.

Then?  She started playing with her new flashlight at bedtime.  She had fun shining it on her toy shelf....'yook, Mommy!  I see dat and dat and dat!"  She then started counting the butterflies on the wall above the shelf.

I loved this one even more.

Today's prompt:  monochromatic

Caroline simply loves this book.  I've read it over and over and over, but the thing is?  After the second time?  She just about memorized it.  So, although she loves to hear me read it to her (and talk in my really bad English accent) she "reads" it to herself very well, too.  The big girls often say, "ohmygoshmommy!!!  That's exactly what it says!!"

Today's prompt:  reading

Another day at the pool!  I couldn't help but snap a picture of Caroline when she slapped this bucket on her head.  It goes perfectly with the prompt I chose for today....red.

I ran across a neat little idea for the summer and decided to jump right on in with it.  It's the Inspired Summer Challenge from Photographer Cafe.   You can see all of that fun little stuff RIGHT HERE.

I love how cute the printable is.  For some reason?  I do much better with lists and templates that look pretty.  I started with the challenge yesterday (for that day I chose 'freckles') and I think I'm going to love it!

Here's today's photo using the prompt 'sidewalk chalk'.

Whew.  We are home from our lovely time at the lake and we are all pooped.  Allison got her staples out today and we are just trying to recover from twelve plus hours on the lake each day....my brain is still rocking from the waves.

I needed to edit a load of images today and even Super Woman tried to help out.

We spent another day on the lake and this is Caroline's most favorite thing to do on the boat.  She falls asleep every time.  No...like....EVERY SINGLE TIME.  Want Caroline to nap?  Throw her on the boat.

My mom and I went to our town's local craft fair today and it was smokin' hot outside!  Ninety degrees and full sun.  Smokin' hot, I tell ya'.

Afterwards, we spotted an estate sale at a really cute little house and look what I found!!  (The camera...not the three year old.)  Ten bucks for two cameras, extra lenses and some sort of Kodak timer...??

136/365

Today Caroline and I spent some time cleaning and I thought about taking a photo of cleaning supplies.  I did not.

We also spent some time lining up stuff.  She started that fun little addiction activity when she was about...oh, I don't know...eighteen months?  I thought she'd be out of it by now, but one of her favorite things to do is line up items.  Equal packets at a restaurant.  French fries on her plate.  Matchbox cars.  Crayons.  You get the idea.  Anyway, I thought about photographing her lining up the bathtub letters.  Well.  Actually I *did* photograph her lining up the bathtub letters, but I figure I have too many "lining up" photos.

Later we spent some time reading books and it crossed my mind that I should snap a photo.  I didn't.

I filled up the sink with water and bubbles and she played there for a long while.  Her hands smelled delightful.  I considered photographing.  But, alas I did not.

About an hour of our day was spent playing Sally and Yite Nin McQueen.  I was Yite Nin and she was Sally.  We raced our cars through the foyer and had to be rescued several times by the air pain.  No pictures were taken.

Finally, she spent a while sitting with me by the back door in the living room and I figured out how to get her chatty and giggly and not so "squinch up my lips" smiley.  We played Santa.  I was Santa and I asked her what she wanted.  She said, "two cookies cause you takin' a pishure of me, Santa."

Two cookies it was.

Love this one because it's just so dainty and so very Caroline. It also shows that little scar from when she tried to jump on the top bunk bed in her big sister's room.

This is her new way of smiling.

You likey?

This was in her classroom after her end-of-the-year program and party.  She was begging me to read books to her.  I told her I would but ONLY if she smiled for the camera.

What.  You mean good little mommies always read books to their kids and don't place conditions on that little activity?

What. Ever.

I do love this photo of my little one even though she's squinching up her mouth.  I can see a brand new freckle sprouting underneath her eye.

Blogger was down and now it's back up.

My last two posts were deleted.

Let's see if I can remember what I said for this post...

So, anyhoo....I finally downloaded Angry Birds and I can't get my phone back from the girls now.

Somehow this blog was chosen for Blogs of Note.

Yay! Lots of new people and super cool blogs to follow!! Thanks for all of your sweet comments!

Boo! Lots of creepy people clicking over from Blogs of Note. Yuck!

---->insert Angry Birds face here<----

I've spent loads of time deleting spam comments and loads of time blocking Weirdo McWeirdersons. Here's a tip: If your profile picture is a dragon eating a child? Gone. If your About Me section says, "likes to paint nudes, pee outside and roast lizards over a fire next to the ocean"? Gone. If you leave rude and gross comments or try to advertise something? Gone.

I love all of these newbies that have found my blog, BUT...if you are a Creepy McCreepypants? Stay off my page. Period.

This isn't my normal processing...just felt like trying something new today.  Hey.  Why not?  Caroline did.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies and grandmommies out there!  Today we had a grand ol' time at our house!  We had family over for a cookout and chit-chat and giggles.  This was the macaroni covered face I found at my feet today.  She was beggin' for a cookie.  I often find this little one looking up at me just this way.  I'm going to miss this angle when she's tall enough to look me square in the face.

Caroline loves this little part of our book, Arthur Goes To School.  (Actually, it's from the public library, but technically it's our book since I paid a gazillion dollar late fee on it.  It seems that Allison kept hiding it each time we would head out to the library to return it.  When she was three.  She's nearly six.)

I'm not sure which she loves more...the story of the three little pigs or the voices that I make when I read it to her.

Moon Dough.  A birthday present for Caroline.  Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but it's probably better than those colored bubbles I keep hearing about.

112/365

I had such a hard time deciding which photo to use today.  SUCH a hard time.  In the end?  I let Allison choose and here it is.  She said she chose this one because "the other one is WAY too crooked, Mommy and that looks bad".

Hmmm...does she see that Caroline is not in focus?  We've traded "way too crooked" for blurry.

Well, actually?  It's emotionally in focus and I just love that little hand of hers....that sweet little arm...that little bitty elbow...that darling profile...the sweet little overbite...

The only thing I hate about this photo?  Those blasted window crayons remind me that they will not come out of our carpet.
